A couple months back at Lightmaker we launched the official website for the ‘Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix’ videogame. An experiential experience which takes users on a journey through the magic of Hogwarts. Authenticity was certainly recreated in the website as users are required to practice and cast spells across the site in order to unlock content. Hogwarts was recreated in our 3D studio from assets supplied and there is a narrative journey to accompany the user as they move through Hogwarts. Other features include several DS mini games, integration with the Wizarding Widget and content that has been localised for 18 territories. I was the Lead Designer of the project and to-date this is one of the most creative projects I’ve ever worked on.

Lightmaker recently launched a full Flash website for the Chocolate Couture Collection fashion show in Toronto. The aim was to showcase a fusion of two highly desired items, chocolate and fashion.
I was only involved on this project for the creative ideas and look & feel, where we decided to go for a full screen flash with minimal approach on the design elements and with a main focus on the Fashion collections through a “carousel” style navigation, to feel more like a catwalk. The project was developed further in a close corporation between the Lightmaker team in Vancouver-CAN and Tunbridge Wells-UK to deliver the final working website. Given the tight deadlines of the project, everyone put a great effort and hard work in order to launch the Cadbury’s site in sync with the fashion show.
The site, created in Flash 8 with content coming from XML, is fully W3C compliant, screen reader compatible and available to both French and English speakers.
