Some very unique and amazing photography being done by Lichtfactor, 3 graffiti artists where they use light to “paint” on a city. They use an exposure of about ten-to-thirty seconds and a tripod along with glowsticks, flashlights, reflectors, and even torches to create all sorts of designs on their surroundings. See their Flickr gallery for a complete set of photography, as well as an interview on them here done by COLOURlovers.

One of my most favorite and most creative TV Ads, The Happiness Factory was the highest rated global spot that the Coca-Cola company has ever done, winning major awards like the Silver Lion at Cannes 2007 advertising awards and even an Emmy nomination in the United States. It is the kind of advertisement that you want to enjoy in really high quality to see all those details and characters that take part to this short and enjoyable spot. See the original tv ad that I’m talking about here. You can instantly see how much love, effort and creativity went on the this animation from it’s creators, the agency Wieden+Kennedy and the animators from Psyop.
Following the ad, a mockumentary was created that takes you behind the scenes to get to know better the characters and their responsibilities among the Happiness Factory. Is a really enjoyable clip and really gets you into the story. You can see it here.
The most recent addition to the series is the Happiness Factory Movie, but this time instead of a spot is a short film where the story goes epic when the factory runs out of coke. The creators pushed their limits with this one, by the use of state-of-the-art animation techniques. They have really delivered some fantastic details and stunning visuals. I highly recommend to download the high quality movie of this short film from the official Happiness Factory website here to really enjoy this work of art.

Just finished my first digital painting, called Aella. She’s a modern amazon warrior inspired by the work of Louis Royo. You can view more details and images here on my personal portfolio.

Haven’t seen the movie yet, though it does look interesting, but the website is very nicely done. Is nothing to go wow, and is nothing innovative, however the quality of the graphics, the design elements, the subtle animations, everything makes it stand out more than many other movie websites out there. I don’t know yet who made it but you can see that they paid some good attention to it and on many details. Plus, the most favorite function of the site, the “meet your demon” section, works very well as a viral element to the marketing of the movie. Check out the site and meet your own demon to see what I mean.

Just received another book release from Louis Royo, featuring a collection of his latest fantasy illustrations. As I was expecting from my most favorite illustrator, the work is stunning as always. Subversive Beauty is a collection of female portraits / illustrations showcasing the concept of the subversive beautiful woman along with writings from the artist. For anyone into this kind of fantasy art then this is a nice addition to their collections. You can view an online gallery of the books illustrations here and you can purchase the book from here.
