Now, this is a gadget that I can’t wait to get my hands on. Is a portable music player and also a professional portable DJ player. So mainly, you can DJ and beatmatch tracks with one hand and on the move. Plus, it can also be connected on sound systems for a proper sound output. It still haven’t been released yet but you can check out the official website here for more info and reserve one.

It is very rare that a full flash site will engage me for more that 5-10minutes, but fiftyeight.com managed to keep me browsing around for some long time. The 3D animation, both into the website and on their portfolio, is just amazing. The site is really enjoyable with great humor, loads fairly fast and has a lot of content and animations to see. It definitely worth it to check it out and have a look on their portfolio and show-reel… oh, and make sure to find and press the “Fight the site” button. ;)

Just launched my official DJ Blog, Uplifting-Selections.com, where I will be featuring ocationally my own personal DJ mixes for free direct download. If anybody is into Trance and Progressive dance music then check out some of the sets and let me know your comments. I put a lot of thought and effort into each set, as I do with my art & design work, so I’m comfortable that people will enjoy the music as much as I do.

Not only the God of War video game series is based on the great Greek mythology, but it also has an excellent set of concept artworks behind it from some very talented artists. So there is no surprise that the game it self has on of the best designs and visual adaptations of Greek mythology. One of those artists is Andy Park, who from comic book and magazine illustrations he joined the art team for God of War II over at Sony Computer Entertainment America, to help create the visual world of the game. And he did some great work for it. You can check out here some concept art from GoWII at Andy’s portfolio website.

Jason Chan a digital artist from California, with an impressive portfolio, and still in a young age (god, I hate that). :) He has a very comic book style of drawing, with a nice blend of western and eastern cultural influences and overall a very colorful and enjoyable one; even on his dark & horror themes. My favorite pieces must be the art for the World of Warcraft Guru. You can check them out here.

Definitely one of my most favorite paintings out there, this is the winning piece for the ‘The Journey Begins’ CGChallenge by Dehong He. Is simply a stunning piece, capturing the “journey begins” challenge within an epic fantasy theme where the high spirits of good and evil are in once again in war and the human species is in the middle, weak, small and helpless.
A great concept and the execution is excellent. You can view how the painting has progressed from start to finish here.

Just found the work of this artist over at CGPortfolio, and I’m honestly speechless. There is a very unique style on the way that this guy brushes, where it looks like that without the use of any precise and sharp brushing he manages to get some great amount of details, only where is needed, through free gesture painting. The themes of his work are very inspired from his Chinese culture as we can see on his character designs. A very nice amount of work.

‘End of Godliness‘ is one of Kuang Hong’s latest digital work, portraiting a semi-fallen Angel, always with his unique painting style of rich colors and nice attention to details.
In Kuang’s own words:
“The angel isn’t completely fallen, at a mountain top on earth, carrying a bloodied cross, hoping the last prayer can redeem her soul. Alas, failed to escape the fate of the fallen.”
Nice one.

This is definitely one of my most favorite and most original flash portfolios out there. The overall design is simple and not visually heavy, but the approach is excellent with great details and subtle animations.

458nm is a stunning short CG animation done by Polynoid from Germany. Is a dark piece about the doomed love between two mechanical snails. Even thought the mechanical appearance of the two snails is complicate with great details, the filmakers managed to keep the intimate and dramatic feeling through a smooth pace animation. The modeling and animation (done in Softimage XSI 5) includes a great amount of complexity and details where’s we get to enjoy in many closeup shots within this short.
This is a highly recommended piece of work to be viewed by anyone who’s a great fan of CG animation and 3D modeling.
